VOLLEYBALL: Rebels knock off county foe James Kenan

Anna Thornton passed out 24 assists and North Duplin slipped past county rival James Kenan 24-26, 25-21, 25-17, 25-17 in a Carolina 1-A Conference match contested Tuesday.
Haley Brogden provided 14 kills for the Rebels, who rose to 3-6 overall and earned their second league win in six outings this season. Taylor Walker and Madison Sullivan had five kills apiece.
Anna Thornton and Brogden combined for 15 aces.
Abbey Pate led a balanced defense with three digs. Brogden, Cassy King, Brooke Cottle, Swinson and Thornton combined for 10 digs.
