VOLLEYBALL: New Bern handles CBA

NEW BERN -- Arlanda Faulkner pounded out 18 kills in Charles B. Aycock's 13-25, 22-25, 20-25 loss to New Bern in Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference play Thursday afternoon.
The Golden Falcons had 24 kills as a team.
Faulkner and Taliyah Green combined for seven blocks. Cassandra Lassiter emerged as the defensive leader with 20 digs, followed by Faulkner (11) and Mookie Powell (10). Hannah Carter dished out 22 assists.
