GIRLS' TENNIS: Princeton edges Spring Creek, 5-4

Princeton's No. 3 doubles of Lauren Lawhon-Katherine Leslie earned the match-clinching point in a 5-4 victory over Carolina 1-A Conference foe Spring Creek on Tuesday afternoon.
The duo defeated the Gators' tandem of Vanessa Southernland-Azaneth Rodriguez 10-8.
Lawhon, Leslie, Mackenzie Evans and Cailee Vetrano each emerged victorious in singles action. Evans battled back to knock off SC freshman Amanda Haggerty 6-3, 1-6, 1-0 (12-10) at No. 2 singles.
Ivey Rouse and Chloe Davis each won a singles match for the Gators. Rouse-Haggerty and Kristin Alphin-Davis each picked up a doubles point.
Princeton claimed its first win of the season.
