SNOW HILL -- Charles B. Aycock prevailed at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles during a 5-4, non-conference triumph over Eastern Carolina 2-A member Greene Central on Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Falcons' No. 2 duo of Grayson Lane-Haley Creech won 8-3. Teammates Lexi Reeves-Michaela Boyd claimed an 8-3 decision at the No. 3 flight.
"All the girls from from both sides played great matches, but I have to give credit to our number five player, Lexi Reeves," second-year CBA head coach Gene Stancil said. "She just has that refuse-to-lose attitude and was responsible for our singles number five win and our number three doubles win along with Michaela."
Creech, Lane and Reeves each picked up a singles point for CBA. Creech 7-6 (2), 6-0 over the Rams' Taylor Williams at the No. 2 flight. Lane claimed a come-from-behind 7-6 (6), 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) win at No. 3, and Reeves played steady in a 6-4, 6-3 win.
