VOLLEYBALL: CBA sweeps Goldsboro, now 5-0 overall

Charles B. Aycock remained perfect in five outings this season with a 25-21, 26-24, 25-20 triumph over county foe Goldsboro on Thursday afternoon.
Arlanda Faulkner paced the Golden Falcons' offense with 17 kills, while senior Cyerra Carter pounded out nine kills. Taliyah Green and Mookie Powell combined for nine kills.
CBA had 40 kills as a team.
Faulker contributed three blocks. Powell dug up 19 balls. Cassandra Lassiter, Hannah Carter and Faulker each had 10 digs.
Carter distributed 36 assists among nine hitters.
Amber Pfennig had four kills and four aces for Goldsboro. Makayla Roberts had five blocks and Becka Pittard knocked down nine kills.
The Cougars (3-3 overall) play host to Wayne Christian on Monday.
