CROSS COUNTRY: Atwood leads Chargers in meet

Cole Atwood turned in the fastest time of 19 minutes, 2 seconds during Wayne Country Day's season-opening meet.
Teammate Connor Bauer (22:04), Case Kermode (22:19), Suraj Patel (22:29) and Brandon Talton (23:11) rounded out the top five times for the Chargers.
On the girls' side, Janae Jones led WCDS with a 25:40. Teammate Gray Young finished in 25:43, followed by Hayden Nielson (27:52), Natalie Bailey (27:55) and Catherine Freeman (29:00).
Eli Winders led Wayne Christian with a 22:47. Rayshawn Wellington crossed the finish line in 24:44, while teammate Jadin Worling logged a time of 38:32.
Paige Court led the Eagles in the girls' race with a 24:51. Hoyi Verme (25:34), Maria Memmelaar (32:11), Natilie Rheingruber (32:57), Emma Harbuck (32:58) and Sydnei Rosso (38:36) also competed.
