• NOTES: A total of 135 players have entered the stroke-play, 54-hole tournament. ... Play begins at 8 a.m. each day. ... Groups of four will tee off at various times on either hole No. 1 or hole No. 10 on each course.
• HISTORY: This is the 17th installment of the Wayne County Men's Amateur, which begin with just two divisions -- Open and Senior -- in 1999. A Super Senior Division was added in 2000. The WCMA board proposed and approved a Masters Division, which started in 2014.
• MOVING ON UP: Four-time Open Division champion Lionel Sutton, who played on several lower-tier professional tours, is stepping into the Senior Division this year. That leaves the door open for a new champion.
• MORE ON THE OPEN DIVISION: A total of eight Open champions have been crowned, with seven winning the title on two or more occasions since 1999. ... Four-time champ Jonathan Burke returns after regaining his amateur status. The Barton College alum won Open crowns in 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2010.
• RECORD SETTERS: Speaking of Burke, he holds the three-day, 54-hole record of 206 set in 2010. Burke recorded three under-par rounds that year. Jeremy Joyner also shot three under-par rounds in 2014 and logged a three-day total of 207.
• CATCHING ZAMBELLI: Burke and Sutton may be the class of the Open Division, but John Zambelli is "Mr. WCMA" with six individual titles that span the Senior and Super Senior Divisions.
