1A PLAYOFFS: Rosewood soccer moves into 3rd round

MANTEO -- Rosewood High received goal work from two players and defeated Manteo, 4-nil, in N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A playoff soccer Saturday afternoon.
Lexi Mercer and sophomore Tayzlie Tripple combined to register four goals against a porous Manteo back line, who entered postseason play as a number seven seed.
Manteo finished the season with an overall mark of 9-10. Rosewood, now 15-6 on the season, face Carolina 1-A rival Spring Creek next Wednesday.
