Rosewood eliminated from 1A softball playoffs

WAKE FOREST -- Shayla Marak batted 2-for-3 and collected an RBI during Rosewood's season-ending, 13-5 loss to Franklin in opening-round action of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A playoffs on Tuesday evening.
Toree Marak contributed two hits and an RBI. Keelin Hunter, Hailey Weeks (RBI) and Carrie Ann Beckert contributed one hit apiece for the Eagles. Weeks, Marak and Kaitlyn Kincaid combined for four stolen bases.
Six Franklin Academy batters combined for nine hits, eight RBI and 11 runs scored.
Kincaid took the pitching loss.
Rosewood ended the year 7-12 overall.
