PRINCETON -- Matt Daughtry retired 11 South Creek batters during a five-inning stint, sparking Princeton to a 6-0, opening-round victory in the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 1-A playoffs Tuesday evening.

Daughtry limited South Creek to one hit in a five-inning appearance on the bump. Tanner Flowers earned the save with two innings of five-strikeout scoreless relief.

Seth Price paced the Bulldogs' offense with two hits. Nick Phillips delivered an RBI single in a four-run fourth inning that also included two Cougar errors.
