Rebels' Brogden hurls 2-hit, 11-strikeout shutout

Haley Brogden tossed a two-hitter inside the pitcher's circle as defending state 1-A champion North Duplin claimed a 10-0, mercy-rule win over Rosewood in Carolina 1-A Conference play Tuesday evening.
Brogden posted 11 strikeouts.
Courtney Brock cranked out two triples and a double for the Rebels, who remained perfect in nine league games this season. Natalie Ramirez went 2-for-2, while Alyssa Santos tripled.
ND touched Rosewood starter Kaitlyn Kincaid for 10 hits and benefited from three walks. The Eagles' defense committed four errors.
Rosewood (5-9 overall, 5-4 CC) visits Lakewood today and is the guest of Spring Creek on Thursday. North Duplin (14-1) entertains Princeton the same evening.
