CBA's Hinnant breaks school record

WILSON -- Charles B. Aycock's Jarius Hinnant recorded a school-record and regional-qualifying mark of six feet in the high jump during a multi-meet contested at Demon Terror-Tory Stadium at Fike High School on Monday afternoon.
Hinnant broke the old mark of 5-10 set in 2013.
Nick Meza won the 300 hurdles in 44.35 seconds. Joseph Mooneyham placed first in the 3,200 run (10:37) and finished runner-up in the 1,600. Deshawn Owens took second in the 800 and third in the 1,600.
Kamarion Graham placed second in the 200.
Aycock secured victories in the 4x2 and 4x8 relays. The 4x8 group -- which recorded a time of 8:51 -- consisted of Owens, Cameron Sims, David McIver and John Parrish. Micah Castillo, Devontez Tillman, Berry Ellis and Graham comprised the 4x2 squad, which completed the event in 1:35.
Franklinton claimed the team portion of the meet with 180 points, followed by Aycock (155), Fike (100), North Edgecombe (51), KIPP Pride (22) and RM Academy (15).
