WCDS senior Democko scores first career hat trick

Gianna Democko scored her first career hat trick (three goals) and Ally Willman dished out three assists during Wayne Country Day's 8-0 romp over Pope John Paul in a Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference game Tuesday afternoon.
Janae Jones added two goals for the Chargers, who improved to 4-0 against CPIC opposition this season. Martie Rose and Hayden Nielsen punched in one goal apiece.
Kathryn Hamilton contributed one goal and one assist. Jasmine Jones and Langley Barnes each had one assist. Allison Bailey registered two assists.
"It took us a few minutes to get going," WCDS head coach Steve Ellis said.
Wayne Country Day (7-6 overall) is scheduled to start second-half conference play today at Freedom Christian.
