Walton (Madison), Shingleton lead CBA softball

PIKEVILLE -- Madison Walton smashed a three-run home run as Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference leader Charles B. Aycock handed Southern Wayne a 15-0, mercy-rule defeat Tuesday evening.
Walton finished the day 2-for-3 with four RBI.
Allison Shingleton batted 4-for-4, including a double and three RBI. Hannah Vinson and Taylor Puetz (two RBI) each supplied two hits.
Shingleton emerged victorious inside the pitcher's circle. She recorded five strikeouts and held the Saints to three hits -- one each by University of Mount Olive signee Kelsey Hayes, Iyahna Bess and Caroline Summerlin.
The Golden Falcons (17-1 overall, 7-0 ECC) entertain Wilson Beddingfield today.
