WARSAW -- Kolby Harris tossed a five-inning no-hitter during Rosewood's 15-0, mercy-rule romp over Carolina 1-A Conference foe James Kenan on Tuesday evening.
Harris (4-1) recorded five strikeouts and did not walk a batter in his fifth start of the year. At the plate, Harris helped his cause with two hits, an RBI and two runs scored.
"Kolby showed a lot of poise and maturity on the mound as a sophomore by getting ahead of hitters early and often," said RHS head coach Jason King, whose team is 8-1 in road games this season.
"He stayed consistently in the strike zone and allowed his defense to work behind him -- one time even issuing a three-pitch inning midway through the game."
Boone Moody, Tucker Chapin (RBI), Tanner Bradley (two RBI) and Chance Howard (RBI) provided two hits apiece. The quartet combined to score eight runs.
The Eagles' defense posted its fifth shutout of the season.
Weather permitting, Rosewood (12-6 overall, 8-1 CC) returns home Friday against Lakewood.
