Jones, Long participate in 120th Boston Marathon

Goldsboro natives Steve Jones and Carol Long participated in the prestigious Boston Marathon on Monday.
Each was a first-time runner in one of the world's largest marathons that attracts more than 30,000 competitors world wide.
Jones started in the first wave of runners and competed the grueling 26.2-mile race in 4 hours, 12 minutes and 29 seconds.
Long followed in the fourth and final wave of runners around 11:15 a.m. She completed the course in 4:35.37.
According to ESPN.com, nearly 450 runners from North Carolina competed in the race.
