Aycock's Shingleton tosses 3-hit shutout

PIKEVILLE -- Allison Shingleton tossed a complete-game three-hitter during Charles B. Aycock's 11-0 conquest of county and Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe Eastern Wayne on Wednesday.
Shingleton retired eight Warriors on strikeouts.
Connor Vinson (RBI) and Mackenzie Wheeler (two RBI) paced the Golden Falcons' offense with two hits apiece. Hannah Vinson doubled in two official at-bats.
Elizabeth Sutton led EW with two hits, while Emily Newsome provided one hit. Emily Uzzell endured the pitching loss.
The Golden Falcons have won all 31 meetings in conference play against the Warriors since 2001.
Aycock (16-0 overall, 6-0 ECC) is the guest of Beddingfield today. Eastern Wayne (2-8, 1-5) starts second-half conference play Friday at South Central.
