Softball: Wayne Christian 13, Cape Fear Christian 11 -- Abigail Kornegay belted an inside-the-park home run and doubled for WCA. Abbe Harris, Abi Harrelson and Leah Boswell each connected on a double. Brianna Verme tripled. Verme threw a complete-game six-hitter and retired seven CFCA hitters on strikeouts. Weather permitting, Wayne Christian (4-4 overall) travels to Northwood Temple today.
Girls' soccer: Norwayne 4, Wayne School of Engineering 1 -- Colleen Jones, Brilee Sauls, Haley Martin and Kayla Spier each one goal in Norwayne's win. Jones and Tanner Griffin dished out one assist apiece. Goalkeeper Taylor Smith recorded four saves. Norwayne improved to 8-0-0 overall.
