Rosewood hands Neuse Charter 10-0 loss in baseball

SMITHFIELD -- Lanky Rosewood right-hander Nick Neal posted five strikeouts and yielded two hits in a three-inning stint as Rosewood handed Neuse Charter a 10-0, mercy-rule defeat in Carolina 1-A Conference play Thursday afternoon.
Neal did not walk a batter.
Noah Grantham and Conner Vernon combined to provide two innings of three-strikeout, one-hit relief.
Jonathan Peacock and Kyler Bradley provided two hits apiece and combined for five stolen bases. Stalen Massengill supplied one hit, one RBI, scored a run and stole a base.
The Eagles (9-6 overall, 5-1 CC) travel to Princeton on Tuesday.
