SOFTBALL: Goldsboro crushes three home runs against Kinston

KINSTON -- Riley Howell, Matti Rose Lyon and Addie Shirley each mashed a home run as Goldsboro hammered out a 20-1, mercy-rule win over Eastern Carolina 2-AConference foe Kinston on Friday afternoon.
Howell finished with four RBI, three stolen bases and three runs scored. Shirley swiped two bases and tallied three runs. Lyon doubled, drove in two runs and stole a base during her 3-for-4 effort at the plate.
Nikki Olmsted hit 2-for-3 with a triple and two stolen bases. Dakota Jones stole two bases and scored three runs.
The Cougars improved to 2-4 overall and 1-1 against ECCopposition this season.
