Braylee Butts scored the game-deciding run on an error in the bottom of the seventh inning as Rosewood slipped past Spring Creek, 5-4, in their Carolina 1-A Conference clash Tuesday evening.
Tied at 4-4, Kaley Hilton poked a single into right field and advanced to second on a passed ball. Autumn Rivera connected on a base hit to center field and moved up a bag on the throw, which allowed Butts to tally the game-tying run.
The Gators gunned down Rivera at third for the second out. Butts followed with a single up the middle, stole second and moved into scoring position when Keelin Hunter provided a base hit that also led to an infield error.
Kiandra Taylor drew a bases-loaded walk, which set the table for Week's grounder that Spring Creek's defense misplayed.
Butts batted 2-for-4 and scored three runs. Weeks earned the mound win with 22/3 innings of two-strikeout, scoreless relief.
Rosewood faces Wilmington Hoggard today.
