Chargers hammer out non-conference road win

SANFORD -- John Strickland delivered a four-hit, three-RBI performance as Wayne Country Day throttled Grace Christian of Sanford in mercy-rule fashion, 21-8, on Tuesday afternoon.
Mitch Turnage (RBI) punched out three hits. Case Kermode provided two hits and three RBI. Patrick Hall (three RBI), Zach Barfield (RBI), Jacob Magera (two RBI), Jon Bryan, Ryan Hopes (two RBI), Parker Smith and Amane Godo each contributed one hit.
Jack Talton, Hall and Magera combined to throw five innings on the mound. The trio combined to surrender 10 hits and retire five Grace Christian batters on five strikeouts.
Wayne Country Day (7-4-1 overall) is the guest of Lawrence Academy on Friday.
