Ayden-Grifton, Greene Central open ECC 2A baseball season

LITTLEFIELD -- Ayden-Grifton launched its Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference campaign with a 6-4 victory over Greene Central on Tuesday evening.
Jalen Carmon led the Rams' offense with two hits. Matt Mewbern batted 1-for-3 with an RBI. Hunter Moore took the pitching loss.
Clay Wilson retired eight GC batters on strikeouts in a complete-game effort for Ayden-Grifton.
The Rams (3-9 overall, 0-1 ECC) are the guests of Southern Wayne today.
