Golden Falcons' Waddell tosses 5-inning no-hitter

ANGIER -- Taylor Waddell threw her second five-inning no-hitter of the season as Charles B. Aycock throttled Triton, 11-0, during second-game action in an Easter tournament contested at Harnett Central on Tuesday afternoon.
Waddell (3-0) walked two and logged five strikeouts.
Mookie Powell, Cassanda Lassiter (two RBI) and Madison Walton (RBI) paced the Golden Falcons' offense with three hits apiece. Ashley Shingleton (three RBI), Hannah Vinson (two RBI) and Georgia Parnell (two RBI) each provided two hits.
Walton crushed a three-run home run and collected five RBI as Aycock run-ruled Western Harnett, 17-4, during its tournament opener. Walton finished the day 3-for-5 that included a double.
Connor Vinson batted 4-for-4. Hannah Vinson registered two hits, including a double, and two RBI. Shingleton, who claimed the pitching win, and Abbie Walton each posted two hits.
The Golden Falcons (11-0 overall) faced South Johnston at 1 p.m. today.
