WILSON -- Kyle Davis threw a complete-game two-hitter and Cameron Kornegay cranked out two hits during Charles B. Aycock's 11-0, mercy-rule conquest of Jamestown Ragsdale on Tuesday morning.

Davis yielded an earned run, walked one and struck out six for the Golden Falcons, who logged a 3-0 worksheet during the third annual Golden Leaf Invitational.

Aycock gave Davis (6-0) the working margin he needed in the first inning. Jacob Sanford drew a one-out walk, stole second base and scored on Landon Casey's two-out single. Bryce Anders and Kyle Davis drew back-to-back walks, which plated Casey.

Sanford's RBI single and Ashton McGee's RBI groundout extended the Golden Falcons' advantage to 4-0 after two innings. McGee and Kornegay each connected on an RBI hit in a four-run, third-inning outburst that included runs scored on an error and wild pitch.

Harrell's RBI double and Chris Turner's sacrifice fly, which scored Harrell, invoked the mercy rule with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning. It was Aycock's second shutout of the Invitational.

Chandler Matthews and Sam Mott each supplied one hit.

"That (finish 3-0) was our goal ... put in three good days," said CBA head coach Charles Davis. "In all three games, I think we got everybody in at some point. Every player on our roster had a chance to play and that was a good thing.

"Our pitching was solid and I was pretty pleased all around with that. We've got to improve a little bit defensively."

Matthews, Kyle Davis, Sanford and McGee were named to the Invitational's all-tournament team. Casey received the team's academic award from Invitational organizers.

Aycock (14-0 overall) entertains New Bern next Tuesday.
