WILSON -- Trey Jordan and Landon Casey combined for a four-hitter as Charles B. Aycock knocked off SouthWest Edgecombe, 10-0, in the Tobs Classic contested at venerable Fleming Stadium on Saturday.
Jordan, who earned the win, limited the Cougars to two hits and struck out three in four innings of work on the mound. Casey threw a scoreless fifth and retired two SWE batters on strikeouts.
Chandler Matthews (RBI), Cameron Kornegay (three RBI) and Bryce Anders pounded out two hits apiece. Kyle Davis provided a hit and an RBI.
"Our focus today was a little bit more effort and a little bit more focus," said CBA head coach Charles Davis, who wasn't pleased after his team's victory over Southern Wayne on Friday.
"I was very pleased with the way we came out and took care of business (today)."
The Golden Falcons (9-0 overall) return home Tuesday against Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference foe D.H. Conley. First pitch is 5 p.m. at Charles Davis Field.
