Aycock nets ECC tennis win over New Bern

Charles B. Aycock won three singles matches in tie-breaking fashion and swept the doubles during an intensity-filled, 6-3 conquest of New Bern in Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference play Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Nick Coston pulled out a 2-6, 6-1, 1-0 (9) win at No. 2 singles. Freshman Nolan Casey prevailed 6-4, 7-6 (2) at the No. 4 slot, while Payne Casey emerged victorious 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (6) at No. 5.
Five of the six singles matches were decided by tie-breakers.
Coston-Matthew Hare, Sam Andrews-Austin Doyle and N. Casey-Jonas Creel swept the doubles courts for the Golden Falcons. Andrews-Doyle squeezed out a 10-8 win at No. 2 doubles.
