Due to inclement weather, today's opening-round games in the 2016 Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference boys' and girls' basketball tournament have been postponed until Tuesday.

The decision came after Wayne County Public Schools officials erred on the side of caution and postponed all classes scheduled for today.

The boys' and girls' teams from Charles B. Aycock, Southern Wayne and Eastern Wayne all are on the road. CBA's boys and Eastern Wayne's girls are part of a doubleheader at Conley. Eastern Wayne's boys and CBA's girls travel to New Bern.

The twinbills tip off at 6 p.m.

Southern Wayne's boys are the guests of J.H. Rose, while the Saints' travel to South Central. Each game tips off at 6 p.m.

Goldsboro's home doubleheader against Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference foe Greene Central has been moved to Tuesday. It's the final regular-season day of the six-team league, which will send just four teams to its conference tournament.

Ayden-Grifton will play host to the girls' and boys' championship games.

All eight Carolina 1-A Conference schools will be in action Tuesday at four different sites -- Rosewood, Lakewood, James Kenan and Neuse Charter.

The four-team girls' pod at Rosewood includes North Duplin (2-18 overall), James Kenan (8-14) and Neuse Charter (15-9). Lakewood will host the other four-team pod that includes Spring Creek (11-12), Princeton (8-14) and Hobbton.

On the boys' side, James Kenan plays host to a four-team group that includes Spring Creek, Rosewood and North Duplin. The other four-team pod includes host Neuse Charter, Princeton, Hobbton and Lakewood.

Games at all four sites tip off at 6:30 p.m.
