PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock senior Taylor Daniels scored 14 points to add to her 1,000 points during senior night on Tuesday evening.
Unfortunately, the Golden Falcons lost to Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A rival J.H. Rose, 51-40.
"Just finishing, finishing strong," said Daniels who has enjoyed her time as a Golden Falcon with the wins and the losses. "There were so many close games where we lost by two points, but we just need to focus and finish strong in the end."
CBA trailed the Rampants, 39-36, after three quarters.
Rose led, 42-38, for five minutes in the fourth quarter until Daniels connected on a basket.
Rampants senior Jillian Ebron assisted junior Kentaisa Street with a layup. Junior Kiara Rogers sank a field goal, and Ebron scored two more points.
The Golden Falcons (7-15 overall, 1-10 ECC) trailed the Rampants, 49-40, with 47 seconds left in regulation. However, Daniels picked up her fourth foul and took a seat on the bench.
Daniels is now focused on Thursday's matchup against conference rival Eastern Wayne.
"We need to focus," she said. "We need to move the ball so we can make shots. Just play hard."
Daniels ended the game with 14 points. Sophomore Hannah Vinson added 11 points. Juniors Connor Vinson and Destiny Washington collected six points apiece.
J.H. Rose senior Castar Braswell led all scorers with 17 points -- including five 3s -- for the Rampants. Ebron ended the game with 15 points.
"I thought the girls (Golden Falcons) played well," CBA head coach Roy Harrell said. "We just didn't get the breaks at the right time. I looked up one time and we were tied, and I blinked and we were down six. What in the world?
"We didn't get out on that girl with the 3s."
