Spring Creek girls earn costly win against Lakewood

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Amber Buchan pumped in 19 points and Ashley Marriner added 15 points as Spring Creek pulled off a costly upset of Lakewood, 58-52, in Carolina 1-A Conference play Thursday evening at "The Swamp."
The Gators' may have lost play-making guard Destiney Sutton to a season-ending ACL injury. Sutton recorded 11 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four steals and three blocked shots before leaving the game.
Sutton is scheduled to undergo an MRI.
Buchan blocked three shots. Marriner provided three assists and three steals. Tysha Teachey just missed a double-double with nine points, 14 rebounds, six steals and five blocked shots.
Spring Creek entertains Hobbton next Tuesday.
