* Boys' basketball: Rosewood 49, Hobbton 46 -- Connor Vernon led a balanced RHS offense with 11 points. Jon Peacock posted 10 points. Marquail Vaughn and Colby Harris each scored eight points. The Eagles (6-5 overall) rose to 6-1 in Carolina 1-A Conference play this season.
* Boys' basketball: Eastern Wayne 28, Charles B. Aycock 24 -- The Golden Falcons rallied with 11 fourth-quarter points, but came up short against their Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference rivals. Sophomore Marquez Farmer paced CBA's offense with nine points. Sophomore Jordan Woodard and freshman Greg Jones each supplied four points.
* Girls' basketball: C.B. Aycock 18, Eastern Wayne 13 -- The Golden Falcons pitched a first-quarter shutout and received a game-high, eight-performance from freshman Taylor Gay. Kania Slocum knocked down four points. Sharon Moorefield, Morgan Casey and Darilyn Lancaster each scored two points.
* Boys' basketball: Greenfield 78, Wayne Christian 53 -- Jaxon Anderson led the visiting Eagles with 11 points. Teammate Jaydon Young registered nine points and Micaiah Singletary scored eight. Junior Tade provided seven points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Will White and Logan Jackson added seven and six points, respectively.
