Rosewood's Mercer notches double-double

Senior Lexi Mercer notched a double-double -- 23 points, 16 rebounds -- as Rosewood hammered James Kenan, 67-28, in a Carolina 1-A Conference affair.
Mercer picked the Tigers for seven steals and dished out six assists for the the Eagles, who have won 29 of their last 30 regular-season league games.
Alyssa Garrison and Nekia Williams each contributed nine points. Payton Lane and Tayzlie Tripple (six rebounds) posted eight points apiece. Williams and Jala Holloman collected four steals apiece.
Holloman supplied six points.
Rosewood (5-2 overall, 2-0 CC) returns to action Dec. 28 against Richlands in an eight-team, three-day tournament hosted by Jacksonville Northside.
