PIKEVILLE -- Josh Wallace held up five fingers.

He wasn't waving.

The undefeated Charles B. Aycock wrestler quietly reminded his team of his race to 100 career wins, which lacked only five victories.

The 160-pounder Wallace got his wish at the 2015 Pilkington Duals Tournament at CBA on Tuesday night when he won five matches and watched his team win the championship.

"It was a great night for the Aycock Golden Falcons," CBA coach Ronnie Allen said. "For the first time in nearly ten years, the Falcons won their tournament (at) the Pilkington Duals in honor (of) the coach that started wrestling at Aycock High School, Terry Pilkington."

The tournament invited Rosewood, Princeton, North Johnston, Southern Wayne, Cleveland High, and Nash Central. Rosewood, the 2014 winner, faced the Golden Falcons in the end.

CBA held off opponents with 48 wins -- including 14 losses -- by Austin Doyle (106 pounds), Chris Parks (120), Hayden Gurley (126), Tyler Macquard (132), Zack Creel (138), Chase Hapes (145), and Brandon "Blueberry" Washington (220).

Rosewood's winners included Jordan Todd, Timothy Decatur-Luker, and Dylan Melger who shared 5-0 victories. Jayden Thomas and Chris Hill impressed their coach with 5-0 performances as well.

"Jayden and Chris worked hard in practice," Rosewood coach Bill Edmundon said. "It was so good to see them being successful today,

"We are always excited about attending the (tournament) at CB Aycock," Edmundson said. "In the championship match, I thought we wrestled about as well as we could have with the personnel we had on hand. CB Aycock did an outstanding job and wrestled tough in the finals match and deserved the win."

Southern Wayne did not submit the results of their wrestlers to the News-Argus by presstime.
