* Boys' basketball: Goldsboro 64, Charles B. Aycock 34 -- DeQuan Pigford and Damien Brown scored 13 points apiece for Goldsboro. Teammates Jarrod Scott and Aaron Smith chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively. CBA's top two scorers were Marquez Farmer with nine and Tyquan Hampton with eight points. It was the season-opening game for both teams.
* Girls' basketball: C.B. Aycock 34, Goldsboro 20 -- Taylor Gray knocked down 18 points for the Golden Falcons, while teammate Kania Slocum provided nine points. Ruby Cannon paced the visiting Cougars 11 points. It was the season-opening game for both teams.
