1A FB: South Creek cruises past North Duplin

ROBERSONVILLE -- South Creek spotted North Duplin a first-quarter touchdown and battled back for a 28-6 win during their opening-round battle in the NCHSAA 1-A (small-school) playoffs Friday evening.
JP Payton put the Rebels on the board with a 32-yard touchdown pass to William Archer. It was Payton's lone completion of the night.
South Creek (8-3 overall) held North Duplin to 121 yards rushing. Melik Williams scrambled for 47 yards on 13 carries. Emiliano Mora, ranked among the area's top five rushers, managed 44 yards on 15 totes.
Payton, Daquan Goodman and Kenny Sheppard combined for 30 rushing yards.
North Duplin ended the year 4-8 overall.
