1A SOCCER PLAYOFFS: Rosewood 7, East Carteret 0

BEAUFORT -- Zack Barnes recorded a hat trick (three goals) and Ethan Chapin dished out three assists during Rosewood's 7-0, second-round thrashing of East Carteret in the N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 1-A playoffs Saturday afternoon.
Chapin, Hayden Amodeo, Stalen Massengill and Daniel Alberto (penalty kick) provided one goal apiece. Alberto also handed out an assist.
"That is the best game I have seen us play all year," RHS head coach Eddie Maldonado said. "I'm really happy with how well they did tonight."
The 11th-seeded Eagles (16-5-1 overall) travel to Granville Central on Tuesday. Neither team has allowed a goal in the postseason.
