Warriors' Pedrick finishes 13th in 3A state cross country meet

KERNERSVILLE -- Eastern Wayne senior Fiona Pedrick finished 13th overall in the season-ending N.C. High School Athletic Association Class 3-A women's cross country championships contested at Ivey Redmon Sports Complex.
Pedrick ran the muddy and mucky 5k (5,000 meter) course in 20 minutes, 25 seconds.
Princeton's Austin Sullivan claimed 28th in 18:29.16 during the 1-A men's state championship meet ran on the same trek. Rosewood's Dalton Farmer ended up 86th in 20:15.03.
On the girls' side, North Duplin junior Haley Thurston logged a 19th-place time of 21:58.96 in the women's 1-A state finals. Rosewood's Elaina Amy wound up 51st in 23:18.10.
