Topsail knocks out CBA in 3A volleyball playoffs

TOPSAIL -- Arlanda Faulkner cranked out a team-high 13 kills and collected 29 digs in Charles B. Aycock's season-ending 25-23, 20-25, 22-25, 17-25 loss to Topsail in second-round action of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3-A playoffs Tuesday evening.
Alexis Bynum and Hannah Carter logged five kills apiece for the Golden Falcons, who registered a season-low .031 hitting percentage with 37 kills and 33 errors in 131 attempts.
Carter dished out a team-best 18 assists, recorded 15 digs and served four aces. Cassandra Lassiter passed out 31 assists. Libero Sydney Schmeltzer posted 28 digs.
Faulkner served four aces.
Aycock concluded the season 11-11 overall.
