Wayne Country Day closed out regular-season play and celebrated senior night with a 7-1, non-conference conquest of Rocky Mount Academy on Tuesday.

Jennifer Potts, Ally Willman, Eliza Eagles, Langley Barnes and Margaux Pope each earned a singles point. Potts-Gianna Democko and Eagles-Barnes each emerged victorious in doubles.

The No. 3 doubles match was not completed due to darkness.

Seniors Democko and Pope were honored prior to the match.

The two-time defending state champions, the Chargers (14-1 overall) are expected to receive a No. 1 seed for the upcoming N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A playoffs. The eight-team field will be announced later today.
