WCDS nets another shutout in tennis

WILSON -- Wayne Country Day posted shutouts on eight of nine courts in singles and doubles play combined, and handed Greenfield a 9-0 loss at the Barton College Tennis Complex on Monday afternoon.
Gianna Democko, Jennifer Potts, Ally Willman, Langley Barnes and Margaux Pope each claimed a 6-0, 6-0 win. Fourth-seeded Aimee Barnes dispatched the Knights' Ryann Jennings 6-1, 6-1.
Democko-Potts, Willman-L. Barnes and A. Barnes-Pope each defeated their respective opponents 8-0 in doubles action.
Wayne Country Day (13-1 overall) celebrate senior day at home today against Rocky Mount Academy. It's the final regular-season match for Democko and Pope.
