Chargers' Zan Pittman wins XC meet

Zan Pittman emerged as the individual winner and three teammates finished among the top nine during a non-conference meet contested on the WCDS course Monday afternoon.
Pittman ran the 5k course in 19 minutes, 36 seconds -- nearly two minutes faster than runner-up Harrison Freeman of Faith Christian. Case Kermode (21:50) took sixth for WCDS. Fellow Chargers Will Rose (22:07) and Connor Shaw (22:23) crossed the line eighth and ninth, respectively.
Faith Christian's trio of Raleigh Anderson (23:37), Christian Cevallos (24:16) and Silas Hill (24:21) secured 13th, 14th and 15, respectively. The Conquerors shared third place with Freedom Christian in the team portion of the meet.
WCDS won the meet.
On the girls' side, the Chargers' Janae Jones captured second place in 22:54. Teammate Abby Skinner placed fourth in 23:11, while Gray Young ended up ninth in 25:14.
The Chargers and Chris Covenant tied for first in total team points.
Faith Christian's Elizabeth Sasser wound up 20th in 33:08.
