Matthews has 2 TD catches in Aycock's loss to D.H. Conley

HOLLYWOOD CROSSROADS -- D.H. Conley exploded for 31 second-half points and cruised past Charles B. Aycock, 59-21, on the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference scene Friday evening.
Golden Falcons quarterback Jake Flowers threw for 141 yards and two touchdowns -- a pair of scoring receptions to Chandler Matthews. In his last two games, Matthews has hauled in five TD passes and amassed 338 yards.
Caleb Gough put CBA on the board with a 4-yard burst. He ended the night with 123 yards rushing on 31 carries.
Tyrique Ford recorded four catches for 69 yards. Luke Federick and Damien Darden combined for two receptions for 11 total yards.
Aycock had 310 yards of total offense.
Conley quarterback Holton Ahlers, a Division I recruit in baseball and football, accounted for five touchdowns. He completed six passes for 119 yards and three TDs. He added 117 yards rushing and two TDs on just seven carries.
The Golden Falcons (3-4 overall, 1-1 ECC) return home Friday to face South Central, which endured a 30-0 loss to defending 4-A state champion New Bern.
Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Hardy Talton Stadium.
