* Boys' soccer: Wayne Country Day 5, Wilson Christian 0 -- Neyhamia Shaw converted a penalty kick, which turned into the eventual game-winning goal for the Chargers. Bash Attiah, Hamish McKay, David Gurley and Marquise Newell provided one goal apiece for WCDS. Newell, Will McDonald and Nathan Rigdon each recorded an assist. The Chargers (7-0-1 overall) entertain Northeast Charter Prep on Thursday.

* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Spring Creek 25-23, 25-22 -- Toree Marak cranked out a team-leading six kills and served an ace for the Eagles. Jala Holloman provided two kills and three aces. Alana Atwell had one kill. Braylee Butts dished out four assists. Rosewood (5-4 overall) improved to 3-1 against Carolina Conference opposition this season.

* Boys' soccer: C.B. Aycock 6, North Lenoir 0 -- Charles B. Aycock improved to 2-0-0 overall this season. Statistics were not available.

* Volleyball: D.H. Conley d. Southern Wayne 25-9, 25-11 -- The Saints entertain South Central on Thursday.

* Volleyball: C.B. Aycock d. South Central 25-19, 25-22 -- Katy Price had five kills and Daelyn Brock collected four kids in the Golden Falcons' road win. Brock served eight aces. Taylor Gay led the defense with 10 digs.

Middle schools

* Volleyball: Wilson Christian Academy d. Wayne Country Day 25-22, 17-25, 25-21 -- Katie Strickland led the Chargers with nine service aces, two digs and seven assists. Lexi Jeffreys contributed six aces, two kills and one dig. Graysen Jeffreys added six aces, one kill and one dig. Cate Eagles had four aces, two kills, two digs and one assist. Summer Daniels posted five kills. The Chargers (5-1 overall) return to action Sept. 22 against Freedom Christian.
