HOLLYWOOD CROSSROADS -- Eastern Wayne secured the victory in singles play and turned back D.H. Conley, 7-1, in an Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference match Tuesday afternoon.
Elizabeth Sutton, Brennan Dove, Morgan Agner, Samantha Roux and Bella Bowen each triumphed in singles play. Roux and Bowen each won in tie-breaking fashion at Nos. 5 and 6 singles, respectively.
Sutton-Dove and Emily Uzzell-Agner each prevailed in doubles.
The No. 3 doubles match was not played.
"This was a well-needed victory for our team," EW head coach Craig Hassell said. "Roux and Bowen came back to win after losing their first set. This was a hardfought match with rain delays, but we're glad to gut this one out."
The Warriors (2-3 overall, 2-2 ECC) entertain Southern Wayne on Thursday.
