Wayne Christian notches road win

KINSTON -- Wayne Christian scored five of the final six points in the decisive fifth set and rallied past Bethel Christian 25-17, 22-25, 18-25, 25-19, 15-11 on Monday afternoon.
The fifth set was tied at 10-all before the Eagles pulled away for their seventh win of the season. Hannah Sladick (11 kills) and Mercy Wright recorded six blocks apiece.
Emily Wells handed out 25 assists and served two aces. Hope Shook and Brooke Slusher contributed seven and three kills, respectively. Holly Gurley paced the defense with 11 digs.
Wayne Christian plays host to Christ Covenant today.
