SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek handed county foe Southern Wayne a 25-23, 25-19, 25-21 non-conference loss Thursday afternoon.
"There were still some streaks of wonderful volleyball from this young team, however, consistency is still an issue to work on in games and in practice," said first-year Saints head coach Sarah Robertson, who played volleyball at the University of Mount Olive.
"Even though this was a loss, the team showed a lot more fight and determination than previous similar situations (which) shows the growth the team already."
One day earlier, Southern Wayne snapped a two-year losing streak with a 22-25, 25-18, 25-13, 28-26 victory. Robertson credited the play of Macayla Tyndall, the leadership from Katelyn Williams and consistent work from setter Nicole Allen.
Statistics were not available from either team.
