ECBL: Eastern Wayne wins rain-shortened affair

Eastern Wayne defeated Wayne Country Day, 11-10, in a rain-shortened Eastern Carolina Baseball League contest Tuesday afternoon.
Officials called the game after five innings.
Boone Moody (RBI) and Nick Neal (three RBI) each belted a home run for WCDS. Drew Barnes (two RBI) provided two hits. Hunter Burt doubled and knocked in two runs.
Zach Barfield added one hit.
Ethan Chapin endured the mound loss. He yielded eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits and three walks in a four-inning stint. Neal and Moody combined for one inning of three-hit, two-strikeout relief.
Wayne Country Day (1-1 overall) is the guest of Greene Central today. First pitch is 4 p.m. on the James R. Fulghum Athletic Complex diamond.
Eastern Wayne improved to 2-0 overall.
