STEM -- Rylee Pate dominated in the circle and at the plate as North Duplin cruised past Granville Central 11-0 in the third round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A state playoffs.

The game was called after five innings.

Pate pitched a two-hitter in the circle, struck out 12 and walked none. She recorded 41 strikeouts through three playoff games. Offensively, she drove in three runs and had a double to lead the Rebels' 13-hit attack.

Mikayla Koch had two hits along with Mary Barwick and Haley Thurston. Courtney Brock chipped in a base knock as well.

North Duplin (15-3-1 overall) travels Friday to the winner of today's game between Perquimans and Martin Riverside.
