Crumpler gets 1st-ever playoff win in first season as head coach

BEAR GRASS -- Trey Pate struck out 13 batters as Charles Crumpler earned his first-ever win as a varsity head coach in a 10-2 victory over Bear Grass Charter on Wednesday.
DJ Morrisey had three hits including a triple and Cedrick Kornegay also had three hits to lead the Rebels' offense. Morrisey drove in four runs.
Pate gave up just two hits in the game and surrendered one earned run.
North Duplin will take on Riverside in the second round.
