Peacock bats 3-for-3, Rosewood advances to 2nd round

Freshman Jonathan Peacock turned in a three-hit performance and Rosewood turned back Pamlico County, 5-2, during their first-round battle in the NCHSAA 1-A playoffs Wednesday evening.
Peacock also scored two runs. Derek Neal (RBI), pinch-hitter Max White (RBI), Jacob DuBose (RBI) and Kahlil Warren (RBI) each cranked out one hit.
Ethan Chapin and Boone Moody combined for a seven-hitter on the mound. Chapin permitted one run (unearned) on four hits and retired four Pirates on strikeouts to earn the mound win. Moody notched the save with one inning of three-hit relief.
Rosewood will take on Louisburg in the second round.
